"LithoLoops-Viscous" is a protein crystal mounting and measurement tool that makes it easy to immerse loops into the mother liquor and selectively extract the desired crystals. A three-dimensional structure with a loop, groove (or channel), and reservoir (liquid reservoir).

During the loop-out of protein crystals, the mother liquor excessively remains within the loop due to surface tension. This mother liquor applies compressive stress to the crystals during freezing, degrading their crystallinity; therefore, reducing the amount of mother liquor improves the resolution of the crystals. 'ActiLoops' is a protein crystal mounting and measurement tool designed to hydrophilize the surfaces of the loop, groove, and reservoir, allowing the excess mother liquor remaining in the loop to be naturally discharged into the reservoir through the groove.
